MOTOHIRA

A logo design based on two motifs: the "tall rice ears" that characterize Akaiwa Omachi rice, and the "moon" shared by Mochizuki Shoten and Ugo no Tsuki. By adorning a moon-like sphere with a rice-ear motif, the logo expresses the vitality of rice ears that keep growing ever upward. Finished with foil stamping, this "moon of rice ears" changes its expression from moment to moment depending on the viewing angle and how the light falls, just as the moon waxes and wanes. Layering rice and sake with the moon, a motif symbolizing both brands, we aimed for a logo that conveys the appeal of the materials and the passage of time.
